couple half days of nice weather…
… so got some work done outside.
cut stringers for the steps… 7 1/2″ rise, 12 1/4″ tread. flows well with the deck.

the space between the 2×6 cedar will be filled with 2″ quarter sawn cedar.
there are no gaps between the boards on the deck… all tight together. it’ll shrink a bit over the next 6 months, so will end up with a very slight gap…
finished the posts, put some more decking on… few hours time and the deck surface will be all on.

did some electrical, yesterday. there’s only 2 live knob & tube circuits left on the house, now (as far as i know, anyway). started to clean up the main panel a bit, too…

it’s such a mess, i really want to disconnect every wire and route them properly/neatly…

Well, at least somebody’s taking care of the cooking! Thank heaven for Daddy’s little helper!
Reading through your late entries, Dan, and cannot stop being amazed by all you’ve accomplished… Bless you!
I simply love the idea that you’re going to pass over to the little one all that your Grandpa taught you. That’s the spirit! Truely inspiring!
Looking good but for the blood on your thumb… watch it, man, you’re gone need this thumb later!
Keep up that positive attitude and your sense of humor, love it!
Miss you all!
Ann
